Hotel Takeovers

Hotel Takeovers by Under the Palm.

Already have a hotel booked? As a luxury travel advisor, there’s a good chance I can takeover and level up (read: add perks to) your stay.

If you reserved your upcoming stay directly through the hotel’s website, I simply need your booking confirmation to find out if a takeover is possible. Please note I cannot takeover, or apply perks to, your stay if you have booked with points.

Booked your hotel through an OTA (online travel agency like Expedia, Hotels, Booking or HotelTonight)? It’s still possible – but only by canceling your original reservation and rebooking with me. This, of course, will only be worth it for you if you a) have free cancellation and b) my new quote ends up being a better deal than your original reservation.

I cannot takeover your stay if you are within a non-refundable cancellation window, you’ve booked a bundled flight + hotel package or if you’ve covered the cost of your reservation with points.

Typical perks that I can add to your existing hotel reservation include: a priority room upgrade, VIP welcome amenities, complimentary daily breakfast for two, resort credits ranging from $50.00 – $200+ (covering things like food, beverages and/or spa treatments) and priority early check-in and late check-out.

Please note not all hotels will agree to a booking takeover, but many will.

My Takeover Fee.

My Takeover Minimums.

Hotels: $2,000+ spend with a minimum of $500/night

All-inclusive Resorts: $2,500+ spend with a minimum of $750/night

My Turnaround Time.

I can typically confirm whether a takeover is possible, and what perks I may be able to add to your stay, within 48 hours of receiving your booking confirmation.

My Fine Print.

There is no charge for me to takeover your existing reservation. What’s in it for me, you ask? I’ll receive a commission directly from said hotel at no additional cost to you, and I get to help you have a better stay. It’s a win-win.

Now why would a hotel pay an advisor commission, plus add perks to, a reservation that’s already booked? It has everything to do with industry relationships we as travel advisors have so carefully cultivated. Because hotels value working with TA’s and the quality guests we consistently bring them, they’re happy to scratch our back so we scratch theirs – as in, bring them more fabulous guests like you in the future.

Hot Tip.

When I’m able to successfully takeover your reservation, you’ll be on your way to earning exclusive rewards (read: more free perks) through my signature loyalty program, The Cabana Club.
